The Most Common Types of Personal Injury
Personal injury is a common thing and can happen anywhere, doing almost anything. The severity of personal injuries ranges from mild to severe, with recovery times being almost immediate to taking years to recover fully. Personal injury is as individualized as the person who was injured. But, what are some of the most common types of personal injury?
These are, sadly, too common. People are injured in car accidents every day, in the thousands, all across the country. If you count the whole world, the number is much higher. Injuries range from something relatively mild like muscle soreness and whiplash to devastating injuries. Chiropractors see people who have been injured in car accidents almost every day, and most insurances even cover chiropractic for this reason.
Whenever someone is injured because of negligence from a medical professional, this is medical malpractice. It is more common than many people realize.
Worker's Compensation Injuries
Anytime someone is injured on the job, their employer's worker's compensation insurance has to pay for their injury-related care, and sometimes loss of income. Even people with seemingly safe jobs can be injured in the most unusual ways while working, even people like teachers and secretaries.
Slip and Fall
This happens more often than you might think. Any time you slip on something and fall, it can result in an injury (though sometimes you get lucky and are not injured). It can happen at home or in public. The surface you're walking on doesn't even have to be wet. You can slip and fall by losing your balance, or because the soles of your shoes are slick, and even because you tripped on something.
How Does a Chiropractor Treat Personal Injuries?
Everyone is different, including their personal injuries, so a chiropractor always creates a personalized treatment plan for each client. What works for a certain injury on one person may not be the best approach for another.
In addition to individual treatment and recovery plans, your chiropractor will use chiropractic adjustments to heal you and relieve pain. Most often, those treatments are used in conjunction with other natural therapies, such as massage, custom orthotics, diet and nutrition advice, physical therapy exercises, and/or lifestyle adjustment advice.
Your treatment plan may only involve a few treatments to get you healed, or you may need to come in several times a week for an extended period of time to achieve optimal results. You will receive a consultation on the best treatment plan for you at your first visit.
